A Whisper in the Dark

The novella follows the story of young orphan Christie Devon, who works as a governess for the wealthy Sterling family. Christie is modest, kind-hearted, and well-liked by her employers. She forms a close bond with her young charge, Gertrude Sterling, who is the heiress to the Sterling estate.
As Christie settles into her new role, she becomes acquainted with the mysterious and reclusive Mr. Stuart, who lives nearby. Mr. Stuart is known for his eccentricities and is rumored to be haunted by a tragic past. Despite his aloof exterior, Christie finds herself drawn to him.
